E-Newsletter, Issue 10

As I mentioned in the last newsletter, we received a record number of 194 proposals last year for 2005 funding. I am pleased to report that our Research and Development Advisory Committee met in February and approved seven new projects. That will bring the number of active Foundation projects to twenty - another record! The new projects will examine a wide range of topics from Latino safety to specific driving risks. I look forward to announcing these efforts as soon as contracts are in place.

Summaries of our active projects can always be obtained on our Web site and are highlighted throughout this newsletter for your information.  Also, we will be completing several of the ongoing projects later this year and early 2006; so, please stay tuned for these releases.

And finally, I would like to again emphasize our desire to partner and collaborate with other traffic safety organizations. So, if you see opportunities for us to leverage our ongoing research or to enhance the dissemination of research findings or products, such as the soon to be released Driver-ZED, please contact us.  We hope to hear from you.

Very truly yours,

J. Peter Kissinger
President & CEO
