E-Newsletter, Issue 2

Wishing you a safe and enjoyable holiday season. During the busy holiday travel season, traffic safety issues are front and center. If you travel by car this season, please place extra emphasis on safety. Spending a few extra seconds to cinch the belt on your child's safety seat, or delaying departure to ensure you get enough rest before a long trip can make all the difference. Preventative safety, while measured in seconds or minutes, can save you from months or years of anguish, grief, and "what if". Be smart. Be safe.

Best wishes this holiday and a happy 2003 to all,

J. Peter Kissinger

The most egregious drunk-driving offenders are those "hard-core" drinkers who consume large quantities of alcohol and who do not modify their driving behavior. Of drunk drivers in alcohol-related crashes, 58% have a blood alcohol content of .15 or more – the equivalent of a 160-pound male consuming six drinks in an hour.
