Utah DOT Awarded Grant to Expand Use of usRAP
The Utah Department of Transportation will use maps developed through the AAA Foundation’s usRAP, U.S. Road Assessment Program, which gauges the relative safety of various road segments, to allocate a $25,000 Roadway Safety Foundation grant. Part of the RSF’s “Safer Roads: Building Safety into Your Drive” public information and education campaign, the grant will expand Utah’s Zero Fatalities program to reduce traffic-related deaths.
The Utah DOT was one of six organizations selected for grants ranging from $15,000 to $75,000. The maps provided by the usRAP program will help Utah officials determine what sections of road are most in need of repair. To learn more about the foundation’s usRAP program go to www.usRAP.us.
