Concluding a long-term project on senior licensing policies, this summer the AAA Foundation launched a new licensing resource through its senior-driver Web site. It’s designed to provide information to driver licensing officials, policymakers, providers of aging services, researchers, reporters and others. Unlike any previous resource, the database can be used to compare licensing policies and practices state by state. It contains information about license renewal requirements; examiner and staff training; driver screening and assessment; driver medical reviews; and reporting of at-risk drivers, among other topics.
