Spreading the Word about Traffic Safety: AAA Foundation Creates New Position to Increase Outreach

The AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety recently welcomed Fairley Washington to serve as the Coordinator for Research and Education. Washington comes to the Foundation from the Civil Engineering Research Foundation (CERF), where she developed her communications skills by writing press releases and newsletters, developing marketing materials, and managing website content.

As Coordinator for Research and Education, Washington will use her talents to increase the Foundation's outreach and collaboration with AAA and CAA Clubs by sharing and providing information. Washington will serve as the Foundation's liaison to the AAA Clubs, providing them the crucial information they need to fulfill their mission to help people travel safely. In addition to outreach, Washington will coordinate a variety of research activities and assist in maintaining the Foundation's databases and website. "I am excited about furthering the mission of the AAA Foundation and look forward to the opportunity it provides to really impact lives," Washington says.

Washington has a Bachelor's degree in Communication from Wake Forest University and resides in Arlington, Virginia.

The AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity devoted to preventing deaths and injuries caused by motor vehicles. Established in 1947, the AAA Foundation conducts research into the causes of traffic crashes and produces educational materials that provide safety information to the public.
