The AAA Foundation again helped to sponsor the Lifesavers Conference, held this year in Chicago on March 9 through 11. Lifesavers brings together more than a thousand safety professionals, police officers, emergency medical technician, and researchers from all over the country to exchange knowledge and learn about new trends in safety. This year's speakers included Dr. Jeffrey Runge, Administrator for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and Dr. Richard Carmona, Surgeon General of the United States. More than 80 sessions offered a diverse array of topics, ranging from child seat installation to legislation, placing safety-related stories in the media, and research on distracted driving.
