Don't Toss that Old Cell Phone!

Believe it or not, even a cell phone with no service can be of help in an emergency. You can dial 911 from any cell phone that has power, whether it is connected to a network or not. So when you buy a new cell phone, keep the old one charged up and in your car, or give it to a family member to carry. Some charities also accept donations of used cell phones; the Wireless Foundation and Sprint's Project Connect accept cell phone donations, and local charities in your neighborhood may also be interested.
