create focused, high-impact educational materials for all age groups.
AAA Founation Call for Proposals
The AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety is seeking your ideas for applied traffic safety research, for consideration for funding in our 2011 R&D agenda.
The mission of the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety is to save lives on our roads through research and public education. We believe traffic safety research is essential to improving roadway safety and changing the cultural attitude society has toward traffic safety.
If you would like to propose research for possible funding in 2011, the first step in our process is to send us a brief description of the research that you would like to conduct. This should include:
- A descriptive title
- A statement of the specific research question that your proposed research would address
- A concise and high-level summary of the type of research methods that you would propose to use
- A brief explanation of the importance of this research from your perspective
- A rough estimate of the cost and duration of the proposed research
- Your name, affiliation, and contact information
This initial submission should not be lengthy; 2-4 paragraphs should suffice. Please send this as a Microsoft Word document or PDF. Please send your submission to proposals@aaafoundation.org as soon as possible and no later than the end of August.
If we believe that your research would be a good fit in our overall R&D agenda, we will contact you and ask you to develop and submit a more formal proposal.
We would encourage you to take a look at our web site to familiarize yourself with the types of research that we currently have underway. Please pay particular attention to our four existing strategic focus areas, as we will be giving priority to them. Please note that as a matter of policy, the AAA Foundation does not fund research to develop new devices nor to evaluate proprietary technologies, and we do not make grants to administer local traffic safety programs.
